Brussels Wednesday Social with Commissioner Vestager
Metro Group, together with the European Movement International and EuroCommerce, are holding the 7th Wednesday Social Brussels on 8 March 2017. This event will launch a series of discussions on the “Prospects for Europe” and we are kicking off with Margrethe Vestager, European Commissioner for Competition, who will speak about ‘A European Society of Fairness and Equal Opportunities‘

Margrethe Vestager is a Danish politician and has been the European Commissioner for Competition since 2014. She served as a Member of Parliament (Folketing) 2001 to 2014, representing the Danish Social Liberal Party (Radikale Venstre). She was the political leader of her party from 2007 to 2014, and served as Minister of Economic Affairs and the Interior from 2011 to 2014. Commissioner Vestager was 2016 elected as winner in the Woman of Power category by European Movement International at the newly introduced Women of Europe Awards. Margrethe Vestager is married and has three children.
What is the Brussels Wednesday Social?
In cooperation with the European Movement International and EuroCommerce, METRO GROUP organises the “Brussels Wednesdays Social”, modelled on the Berlin salon culture, to discuss retail and wholesale issues connected to political and social debates in Brussels.
