College of Europe: Debating with Minister-President Paul Magnette
Mr Paul MAGNETTE has dominated the latest international news, becoming known as the “little Walloon” who froze the Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) which has been negotiated during more than two years between the EU and Canada, as well as for the “Namur Declaration” he initiated, questioning the way the EU negotiates international economic and trade agreements and their content.
The current Minister-President of Wallonia is a successful young man in the political arena of Belgium, although he always kept a keen interest in EU affairs. Indeed, before entering into politics in 2007, Mr Paul MAGNETTE was a renowned Professor of Political Science and European Studies at the Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB)
The students of the Belgian Society are extremely honoured to invite you to a debate with Minister-President and Professor Paul MAGNETTE, discussing the CETA story and his vision of European integration.
The debate will consist of about 20 minutes of speech and 40 minutes of Q/A.
This event is open to the public but registration is required before 28 April 09:00.
