College of Europe: The EU’s ‘Privileged Partnerships’ with its Neighbours – An Institutional Perspective
The Department of EU International Relations and Diplomacy Studies of the College of Europe, in collaboration and with the support of the Swiss Mission to the EU in Brussels, is organising a one-day conference on the various forms of ‘privileged partnerships’ between the European Union and its neighbours.
These ‘privileged partnerships’ range from bilateral and rather static models (such as the EU’s relations with Switzerland) to multilateral and dynamic models (like the European Economic Area), with the EU-Turkey customs union and the Eastern Partnership countries’ Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Areas somewhere in between. The conference will also provide a timely analysis in light of the UK government’s quest for a ‘new strategic partnership’.
The conference is open to the public and free of charge. If you wish to attend, please register on the event’s webpage before 22 January 2018. Find practical information and the programme on the event page here.
