On 11 December 2019, on the occasion of the second anniversary of the activation of the Permanent Structured Cooperation (PESCO), and one day before the European Council Summit, the European Movement will hold its latest Breakfast Briefing entitled ‘EU Security and Defence: State of play & Future Challenges’, featuring Brando Benifei, MEP and Vice-President of the European Movement International, Lukas Mandl, MEP, Raluca Csernatoni, guest professor at the Vrije Universiteit Brussels (VUB) and visiting researcher on European security and defence at the Carnegie Europe, moderated by Vanessa Cotterell, Head of Policy & Advocacy at the European Movement International (EMI).
This panel of experts will give their insights on the status and future ambitions of EU security and defence cooperation. It will be a good opportunity to discuss the latest developments of the EU/US relations and the potential implications of a post-Brexit scenario within the framework of a deeper European defence integration.
After the initial discussion, the attendees will have the opportunity to engage in a Q&A session.
This event will gather senior politicians and stakeholders in order to discuss with representatives of EU institutions, civil society, the private sector, think-tanks and others. Do not miss an exclusive chance to participate in a stimulating exchange!
