Weekly European Agenda 30/09/2024

This week, multiple European Parliament’s committees will convene and meet in Brussels to debate and vote on several issues. On Wednesday, EU Commissioners will meet to discuss a new communication on Team Europe. No meetings will take place in the Council of the European Union.



European Parliament

On Monday, the Committee on Foreign Affairs (AFET) and the Committee on Budgets (BUDG) will meet to discuss the Dialogue on the Reform and Growth Facility for the Western Balkans. On the same day, the Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs (ECON) will have a monetary dialogue with Christine Lagarde, President of the European Central Bank. Also on Monday, the Committee on the Internal Market and Consumer Protection (IMCO) will exchange views on the future of European competitiveness.  

European Council

No meetings will take place this week.

European Commission and High Representative

On Tuesday, Commissioner Didier Reynders will receive David van Weel, Minister for Justice and Security of the Netherlands, in Brussels. From Wednesday to Friday, Commissioner Ylva Johansson will participate in the G7 Minister’s meeting on Interior in Italy.  On Thursday, Commissioner Iliana Ivanova will meet with Stéphanie Obertin, Minister for Research and Higher Education of Luxembourg.
