Weekly European Agenda 14/07/2025

This week, multiple European Parliament’s committee meetings will take place in Brussels to debate and vote on several issues. On Monday, ministers in the Foreign Affairs Council will exchange views on the current state of EU-US trade relations. On Wednesday, EU Commissioners will gather in Brussels to unveil the Post-2027 Multiannual Financial Framework: first package and the White Paper on the Review of the EU Anti-fraud Architecture.



European Parliament

On Monday, the Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs (LIBE) will receive a presentation of FRA’s Fundamental Rights Report 2024. On Tuesday, the Committee on Foreign Affairs (AFET) will have a public hearing on the implications of the decisions of the ICJ and ICC on the EU's role in supporting a peaceful solution for the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. On Wednesday, the Subcommittee on Human Rights (DROI) will have an exchange of views on the situation of human rights in China ahead of the EU-China Summit.  

Council of Ministers

On Tuesday, ministers in the Foreign Affairs Council will discuss the situation in Georgia and consider possible measures in response to the growing repression by the authorities. From Wednesday to Friday, the Danish Presidency will host the informal meeting of competitiveness ministers. On Friday, the General Affairs Council will gather ministers to receive a presentation by the Commission on its first package of proposals on the EU’s post-2027 long-term budget.  

European Commission and High Representative

On Monday, Commissioner Jessika Roswall will participate in the 6th EU-China High-Level Environment and Climate Dialogue (HECD), in Beijing. On the same day, Commissioner Ekaterina Zaharieva will receive US Silicon Valley Venture Capitalists leaders, in Brussels. On Wednesday, Commissioner Glenn Micallef will participate in a debate with members of the Youth Advisory Council to the President of the European Economic and Social Committee, in Brussels.
