Weekly European Agenda 03/11/2025

This week, multiple European Parliament’s committee meetings will take place in Brussels to debate and vote on several issues. On Tuesday, EU Commissioners will gather in Brussels on unveil two new initiatives: the enlargement package 2025 and the European high speed rail network plan. On the same day, ministers in the Environment Council will seek to reach an agreement on a proposal to amend the European climate law to establish a binding intermediate climate target for 2040.



European Parliament

On Tuesday, the Committee on Foreign Affairs (AFET) and Committee on International Trade (INTA) will vote on the implementation of the EU-UK Trade and Cooperation Agreement. On the same day, the Committee on Foreign Affairs (AFET) will vote on the recommendation for the Council, the Commission and the Vice-President of the Commission/High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy on the EU’s diplomatic strategy and geopolitical cooperation in the Arctic. On Wednesday, the Committee on Security and Defence (SEDE) will have a public hearing on EU Strategic Defence and Security Partnerships.

Council of Ministers

On Monday and Tuesday, the Danish Presidency will host the Informal meeting of culture and media ministers. On Tuesday, ministers in the Environment Council will seek to reach an agreement on a proposal to amend the European climate law to establish a binding intermediate climate target for 2040.

European Commission and High Representative

On Monday, Commissioner Ekaterina Zaharieva will deliver a speech at the formal opening of the AI in Science Summit, inaugural event of the Resource for AI Science in Europe (RAISE), in Copenhagen.   On Tuesday, Commissioner Apostolos Tzitzikostas will host, together with Commissioner Magnus Brunner, a Stakeholder dialogue on Port’s Security, in Brussels. On Wednesday, Commissioner Andrius Kubilius will participate in the Implementation Dialogue on Space, in Brussels.
