Weekly European Agenda 17/11/2025

This week, multiple European Parliament’s committee meetings will take place in Brussels to debate and vote on several issues. On Monday, ministers in the General Affairs Council will hold a policy debate on the EU’s Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF) 2028-2034. On Wednesday, EU Commissioners will gather in Brussels to unveil several new initiatives: the Defence Industry Transformation Roadmap, the Military Mobility package, the European Business Wallet, the Digital Omnibus, the European Data Union Strategy, the 2030 Consumer Agenda, Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation and the Supplementary pensions package.



European Parliament

On Monday, the Committee on Security and Defence (SEDE) will discuss flagship European defence projects of common interest. On Wednesday, the Committee on Foreign Affairs (AFET) and Committee on Development (DEVE) will have a geopolitical dialogue with Kaja Kallas, Vice-President of the Commission/High Representative, Dubravka Šuica, Commissioner for the Mediterranean, Jozef Síkela, Commissioner for International Partnerships and Marta Kos, Commissioner for Enlargement. On Thursday, the Committee on Foreign Affairs (AFET) will have an exchange of views with Mohammad Mustafa, Prime Minister of the Palestinian Authority.  

Council of Ministers

On Monday, ministers in the Agriculture and Fisheries Council will hold a policy debate on the CAP post-2027 in relation to food security and targeting of support. On Thursday, the Foreign Affairs Council will discuss the Russian aggression against Ukraine, after an informal exchange of views with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andrii Sybiha. 

European Commission and High Representative

On Monday, Commissioner Ekaterina Zaharieva will meet with Markus Marterbauer, Federal Minister of Finance, in Vienna. On Thursday, Commissioner Glenn Micallef will meet with Timcho Mucunski, Minister for Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade of the Republic of North Macedonia, in Brussels. On the same day, Commissioner Ekaterina Zaharieva will deliver an opening speech at the Innovation Leaders lunch with startups and investors, in Helsinki.
