The project „National Convention on European Integration of Montenegro“ has been implemented since 2011, with the purpose of establishing durable, coherent and stable framework for a thematically structured discussion forum focusing on the relationship between the EU and Montenegro. Since implementation of this project was very succesful, in 2013 and 2014 it was funded by the European Commission and we will mark the ending of this project in March, with the participation of the highest Government and the Parliament officials.
NCEI 20113-2014 gathers six working groups: Judiciary and Fundamental Rights (Chapter 23), Justice Security and Freedom (Chapter 24), Agriculture, food safety, veterinary and phytosanitary policy and fisheries (Chapter 11, 12 and 13), Environment (Chapter 27), Competition (Chapter 8) and Consumer and Health Protection (Chapter 28). Working groups gather around 400 members from both civil society and state institutions with the goal of adopting recommendations serving as roadmap for Montenegro on its path towards the EU. So far, in 2013 and 2014, working groups have adopted 264 recommendations, 35% of which was accepted and implemented by the state institutions, raising signicantly the success and the quality of the integration process.
