Europa Nostra: European Cultural Heritage Summit

The 2019 European Heritage Summit / Assises européennes du patrimoine culturel will take place on 27-31 October 2019 in Paris. This major European gathering of heritage stakeholders is organised by Europa Nostra in cooperation and with the support of the European Commission and the French Ministry of Culture as well as in partnership with the Fondation du Patrimoine and the Mission Bern.

The winners of the 2019 European Heritage Awards will be celebrated on 29 October at a high-profile ceremony co-hosted by our President Plácido Domingo and EU Commissioner for Education, Culture, Youth and Sport Tibor Navracsics.

Sunday 27 October 2019
10.00 – 14.30: Europa Nostra Board Meeting – (for Board members only)
15.00 – 19.00: Europa Nostra Council Meeting – (for Council members only)
19.30 – 21.30: Welcome Reception (including cocktail buffet)
On this occasion, we will honour Stéphane Bern, winner of a 2018 European Heritage Award / Europa Nostra Award.
Venue: Cercle de l’Union Interalliée, 33 rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré

Monday 28 October 2019
09.30 – 16.30: Excellence Fair – Presentations by the winners of the 2019 European Heritage Awards / Europa Nostra Awards (including buffet lunch)
17.00 – 19.00: Europa Nostra General Assembly – (for Europa Nostra Members/Associates only)
Venue: Paris City Hall, access 3 rue de Lobau
19.30 – 21.00: Visit of the exhibition “Marie-Antoinette, Metamorphoses of an Image” followed by a Reception (offered by the Centre des Monuments Nationaux)
Venue: Conciergerie, 2 boulevard du Palais

Tuesday 29 October 2019
09.00 – 14.15: Visit of the Chocolate Factory Menier in Noisiel organised by the Industrial and Engineering Heritage Committee of Europa Nostra. The visit is available for a limited number of persons (max. 50).
Note: the former referctories menier in Noisiel, located in the heart of the factory estate, have been selected among the list of 2019 endagered heritage sites in the frame of the Mission Stéphane Bern.
19.00 – 23.00: 2019 European Heritage Awards Ceremony (including musical programme & cocktail reception)
Venue: Théâtre du Châtelet, 1 place du Châtelet

The Ceremony will be accompanied by a special musical programme with:
– Maestro Teodor Currentzis and his ensemble MusicAeterna (Rameau)
– Choir of Notre-Dame Cathedral

Wednesday 30 October 2019
10.00 – 18.00: Policy Debate “Cultural Heritage at the Heart of the Revival of the European Project” (including buffet lunch & closing drinks)
Venue: Collège des Bernardins, 20 rue de Poissy
