European Movement France: Let’s put more Europe in the Constitution
This week the European Movement France joined with 60 representatives of civil society organisations to call for the reinforcement of the European dimension of the constitutional reform project, in a column published by the Libération.
As the countdown to next year’s European elections approaches, the constitutional reform offers the chance to anchor the EU in French public life. According to the column, 64% of French people surveyed say that the main reason to abstain from voting in the upcoming European elections lies in the feeling that their vote “will not change anything”. The European Movement France argues that this illustrates the need to amplify the democratisation of European political life within the French institutions.
