TOGETHER FOR EUROPE 2024:
Call for proposals for the EMI National Councils
Following a similar call in 2023, the European Movement International is launching a new call for proposals entitled “Together for Europe” exclusively for our National Councils (NCs) that fulfil the eligibility criteria described in the Guidelines.
The call is a continuation of the EMI’s effort to celebrate Europe’s positive achievements together with citizens and stakeholders at the local and national levels and inform them of the issues at stake, and, in the case of the 2024 iteration, in the context of upcoming European elections, to increase citizens’ engagement in European democracy.
Over the past few years, efforts have been made to harmonise the Europe Day activities and to label them with shared visual elements. This strategy has been intended to strengthen the capacities of the EM National Councils and make our activities, including the Europe Day celebrations, more visible and coherent as a united network.
The elaborate process of grant allocation employed since 2023 is mandated by the European Commission through the CERV programme, where the funding utilised to support Europe Day activities emanates from, and is subject to additional requirements as described in the Guidelines for applicants.
The overall objectives for 2024 activities are to raise awareness and increase voter turnout at the 2024 European Parliament Elections. In addition, and as in previous years, we want to highlight the importance of European unity and common responses to the challenges Europe is facing today.
The proposed actions must seek to achieve at least one of the following objectives:
- To increase citizen awareness about the European elections (and participation in EU affairs), with a particular focus on EU rights and values;
- To increase civil society’s engagement with national political stakeholders around the European elections;
The deadline for submission of proposals is 09 March 2024 at 10:00 CET.
An online information session on this call for proposals will be held on 23 January 2024 from 10:00 – 12:00, Brussels time.
