The European Movement International (EMI) works to promote democracy and strengthen civil society. It is a pan-European network present in 30 countries and encompassing over 70 member organisations. We believe in closer European integration and work across our continent to involve Europeans in the great debates of our time, inform policy-makers’ thinking and influence the direction the EU takes. The role of projects and communications officer is a unique opportunity to work at the heart of the EU and be part of the implementation of our key projects and outreach activities. To perform the role, you will contribute to the management of a wide variety of projects with stakeholders from across Europe, help populate and manage our communication channels, and much more. We are seeking a highly motivated, driven young professional to join an organisation that has been at the forefront of European integration for nearly 80 years.

The Job

  • Assist in project management and delivery of a long-running projects.
  • Contribute to the coordination and flow of information between a wide variety of project partners.
  • Compile documents with relevant information for project stakeholders.
  • Draft, edit and proof-read materials, including project applications and reports.
  • Contribute to creative brainstorming for related project activities and outreach.
  • Assist in the development of communication activities/
  • Assist in the management of the EMI’s social media accounts and digital presence.
  • Assist in the visual design of communication activities, including social media.

Other Tasks

  • Help keep the EMI and the projects website up-to-date with relevant resources and materials.
  • Help maintain EMI’s social media and digital presence.
  • Actively contribute to team meetings and planning processes.
  • Support other team members and stand in where necessary.

Knowledge and skills

Essential

  • A demonstrated commitment to the core European Movement values.
  • Working experience in the field of project management & implementation.
  • Strong organisational skills and excellent eye for detail.
  • Experience in managing social media channels.
  • Experience with image and video creation.
  • The ability to write clear, easy-to-understand texts.
  • (Near) native standard command of the English language.
  • Ability to effectively reach out and gather information from third parties.
  • Confident and independent worker.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Strong research and analytical skills.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills.

Desirable

  • Knowledge of the EU and the EU institutions.
  • Knowledge of website CMS (WordPress).
  • Knowledge of other European Languages.

We offer a 6 month, entry-level full time contract in accordance with Belgian law, as well as other attractive benefits, such as: daily lunch vouchers, monthly public transportation reimbursement, hospitalisation and additional pension insurance (AG), as well as additional extra holidays.
