Karen joined EMI in February 2024. She has a background in international relations, communications, and stakeholder engagement, with experience from both multilateral institutions and business associations. Before joining EMI, she worked at the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees in Geneva, where she worked with external relations, donor engagement, and the organisation of high-level events. She also served as a Communication Advisor for the Norwegian African Business Association, supporting outreach and strategic messaging. In addition, she has written opinion columns for several Norwegian newspapers, commenting on foreign policy and current affairs. She has studied psychology of religion and security studies & international relations. She speaks Norwegian and English fluently, and has working proficiency in French.
