TOGETHER FOR EUROPE 2025:
Call for proposals for the EMI National Councils
The European Movement International is launching a new call for proposals entitled “Together for Europe” exclusively for our National Councils (NCs) that fulfil the eligibility criteria described in the Guidelines.
The call is a continuation of the EMI’s effort to celebrate Europe’s positive achievements together with citizens and stakeholders at the local and national level and inform them of the issues at stake and to increase citizens’ engagement in European democracy.
Over the past few years, efforts are being made to harmonise the Europe Day activities and to label them with shared visual elements. This strategy has been intended to strengthen the capacities of the EM National Councils and make our activities, including the Europe Day celebrations, more visible and coherent as a united network.
The elaborate process of grants allocation employed since 2023 is mandated by the European Commission through the CERV programme, where the funding emanates from, and is subject to additional requirements as described in the Guidelines for applicants.
The overall objectives for 2025 activities are to enhance democratic participation around Union values amidst numerous internal and global challenges. Therefore, actions should aim to increase the engagement of citizens in this context and hence their support for the European project. In addition, and as in previous years, we want to highlight the importance of European unity and common responses to the challenges Europe is facing today.
The proposed actions must seek to achieve at least one of the following objectives:
– To increase citizen awareness of EU values and enable their meaningful engagement in EU affairs, especially in shaping the future of the EU.
– To increase civil society’s capacity to protect and promote EU values and create avenues for cooperation with national and European political stakeholders;
– To reach and engage new audiences at scale and create opportunity to counter malicious misinformation narratives.
The deadline for submission of proposals is 13 March 2025 at 17:00 CET.
An online information session on this call for proposals will be held on 31 January 2025 from 10:00 – 12:00 (TBC), Brussels time.
