Ms. Calistru has been appointed President of the EESC’s Section for Economic and Monetary Union and Economic and Social Cohesion (ECO) for the term 2025-2028, where her primary focus is ensuring meaningful engagement by civil society in the MFF 2028-2034 negotiations and the economic governance frameworks that will shape Europe’s future competitiveness and cohesion. Furthermore, she founded Funky Citizens in her home country, Romania, to use technology, social media and non-formal education methods to facilitate the access to previously hard to find public information and to build the next generation of engaged Romanians who are “civically fit”.

Valeria Ronzitti has been General Secretary of SGI Europe since 2012. She has been Vice-President of the European Movement International since November 2020. She is an active member of the REFIT Platform, where she represents the public services community, advising the Commission on how to make EU regulation more efficient and effective while reducing burdens and without undermining policy objectives. She is also a member of the High-level Task Force on Investment in Social Infrastructure.

Petros Fassoulas has been the Secretary General of the European Movement International since July 2015. Previously Petros worked as ACCA’s Head of Public Affairs, Europe. He has also worked as EU Affairs Adviser at the UK’s Financial Services Authority and before that he was EU Affairs Adviser at the UK Parliament. Petros started his career working for EU institutions like the European Commission and the Committee of the Regions, as well as in advocacy and lobbying in Brussels.
