This week, European Parliament committee meetings will take place in Brussels. On Wednesday, the Committee on Employment and Social Affairs will meet to discuss how to improve and enforce working conditions of trainees and combating regular employment relationships disguised as traineeships. On Thursday and Friday, the Belgian Presidency of the Council of the European Union will host the EU-US Trade and Technology Council.
European Parliament
On Wednesday, the Committee on Constitutional Affairs will vote on an amendment to Parliament’s Rules of Procedure concerning the training on preventing conflict and harassment in the workplace and on good office management. On the same day, the Committee on the Internal Market and Consumer Protection will exchange views on the implementation of the Digital Markets Act compliance, with a focus on self-preferencing and app stores.
Council of Ministers
On Wednesday and Thursday, the Belgian Presidency of the Council of the European Union will host an informal meeting of transport ministers. From Tuesday to Friday, the Belgian Presidency will host the Connecting Europe Days, bringing together stakeholders to discuss concrete measures and exchange best practice with a view to creating a fully decarbonised transport and mobility network in Europe.
European Commission and High Representative
On Wednesday, Commissioner Iliana Ivanova will meet Sanae Takaichi, Minister of State for Economic Security of Japan, in Tokyo. On the same day, Commissioner Vĕra Jourová will meet with Martin Baxa, Minister of Culture of the Czech Republic and Lucy Cronin, Vice-President of Amazon in Prague. On Thursday, Commissioner Vĕra Jourová will speak at the conference Czechia in the EU: Next 20 years, at the roundtable on the implementation of the European Media Freedom Act and at the roundtable on disinformation and foreign interference. On Friday, Commissioner Thierry Breton will deliver a keynote speech at the plenary meeting of the EU-US Trade and Technology Council.
