Weekly European Agenda 30/06/2025

This week, European Parliament committee meetings will take place in Brussels. On Wednesday, EU Commissioners will gather in Brussels to unveil three new initiatives: the Climate Law –2040 target, the Quantum Strategy of EU and the Life Science Strategy. No meetings will take place in the Council of the European Union.



European Parliament

On Monday, the Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs (ECON) and Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs (LIBE) will have an exchange of views with Maria Luís Albuquerque, Commissioner for Financial Services and the Savings and Investments Union, on the amendment to the delegated regulation in relation to third countries which have strategic deficiencies in their AML/CTF regimes (High-Risk Third Countries). On the same day, the Committee on Agriculture and Rural Development (AGRI) will have a discussion on how to secure a sustainable future for the EU livestock sector in light of the need to ensure food security, farmers’ resilience and the challenges posed by animal diseases.  

Council of Ministers

No meetings will take place in the Council of the European Union.

European Commission and High Representative

On Monday, Commissioner Wopke Hoekstra will meet with Sara Aagesen, Minister for the Ecological Transition and Demographic Challenge of Spain, in Seville. On Tuesday, Commissioner Andrius Kubilius will receive Lieutenant General Kai Rohrschneider, Commander of NATO’s Joint Support and Enabling Command (JSEC), in Brussels. On Thursday, several EU Commissioners will participate in the College presidency visit, in Copenhagen.
