Weekly European Agenda 22/09/2025

This week, multiple European Parliament’s committee meetings will take place in Brussels to debate and vote on several issues. On Monday and Tuesday, ministers in the Agriculture and Fisheries Council will receive a presentation from the Commission on its proposals for the common agricultural policy (CAP) post-2027, and agriculture ministers will have the opportunity to hold a first policy debate on the future CAP. On Wednesday, Commissioner Jessika Roswall will participate in the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), in New York.



European Parliament

On Monday, the Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs (LIBE) will discuss the EU Civil Society Strategy. On the same day, the Committee on Foreign Affairs (AFET) will have a public hearing on promoting an EU feminist foreign policy. On Tuesday, the Special committee on the European Democracy Shield (EUDS) will have an exchange of views with Commissioner Michael McGrath on aspects related to the Democracy Shield in the next MFF.  

Council of Ministers

On Monday and Tuesday, ministers in the Agriculture and Fisheries Council will receive a presentation from the Commission on its proposals for the common agricultural policy (CAP) post-2027, and agriculture ministers will have the opportunity to hold a first policy debate on the future CAP. 

European Commission and High Representative

On Monday, Commissioner Magnus Brunner will meet with Filippo Grandi, UN High Commissioner for Refugees, in New York. On Wednesday, Commissioner Wopke Hoekstra will meet with Alicia Barcena Ibarra, Secretary of Environment and Natural Resources of Mexico, in New York. On the same day, Commissioner Valdis Dombrovskis will hold a video conference with Denys Shmyhal, Ukrainian Minister of Defence.
