This week, European Parliament committee and group meetings will take place. On Monday, ministers in the Competitiveness Council will have a policy debate on the European Competitiveness Fund (ECF), one of the main elements of the 2028-2034 long-term EU budget. On Tuesday, EU Commissioners will gather in Brussels to unveil the Savings and Investment Union package. On Wednesday, EU leaders will discuss how to strengthen Europe’s defence, including in view of Russia’s recent airspace violations in several EU Member States.
European Council

Council of Ministers
On Monday, ministers in the Competitiveness Council will have a policy debate on the European Competitiveness Fund (ECF), one of the main elements of the 2028-2034 long-term EU budget. On Tuesday, ministers are expected to approve Council conclusions on the importance of research and innovation for the EU Startup and Scaleup Strategy.
European Commission and High Representative
On Wednesday, President Ursula von der Leyen will participate in the informal meeting of the European Council, in Copenhagen. On Thursday, Commissioner Magnus Brunner will participate in the Cybercrime Conference at Europol, in the Hague. On Friday, Commissioner Valdis Dombrovskis will receive Andrew Puzder, US Ambassador to the EU, in Brussels.
