21st meeting of the EU-China Round Table
The European Economic and Social Committee will take part in the 21st meeting of the EU-China Round Table in Hangzhou, together with its Chinese counterpart, the China Economic and Social Council. The meeting will bring together representatives from both sides to discuss poverty reduction and social inclusion, higher-quality and more efficient EU-China trade and investment, and people-centred artificial intelligence.

Tuesday 15 September

A safe online space for women
The European Economic and Social Committee will host a public hearing in Brussels on gender-based cyberviolence against women and girls. The hearing will examine abuses such as deepfake pornography, non-consensual image sharing and ‘nudification’ apps, and discuss how to hold perpetrators accountable. Participants will also explore measures to combat online misogyny and strengthen the protection of women’s rights in digital spaces.

The European Citizens’ Initiative – State of play in Bulgaria
The European Economic and Social Committee will organise a debate in Sofia on the state of play of the European Citizens’ Initiative in Bulgaria. Bringing together representatives of EU institutions, civil society, youth, academia and local authorities, the event will examine how awareness, visibility and participation in the initiative can be strengthened. Participants will exchange good practices and ideas on making this EU participatory democracy tool more accessible and impactful for Bulgarian citizens.

From the EU Blue Deal to the Water Resilience Strategy and beyond – European civil society contributions to the UN Water Conference
The European Economic and Social Committee will host a civil society event in Brussels on the EU’s contribution to the UN Water Conference 2026. The event will present recommendations from the EESC’s work on the EU Blue Deal and Water Resilience Strategy, while bringing civil society perspectives into the EU’s preparations for the conference. Discussions will focus on water resilience, cooperation and governance, and on strengthening dialogue between civil society organisations, EU institutions and the EESC.

Thursday 17 September

Forum on Mobility in Europe 2030 – serving sustainability and military purposes
The European Economic and Social Committee will host a high-level forum in Riga on sustainable and military mobility in Europe. Bringing together policymakers, industry, municipalities and civil society, the event will examine how Europe can develop greener, more resilient and competitive transport systems while strengthening military mobility. Discussions will focus on electromobility, alternative fuels, freight and logistics, urban mobility and cross-border cooperation.

Committee of the Regions 

Monday 14 September

15th CORLEAP annual meeting
The European Committee of the Regions will host the 15th CORLEAP annual meeting in Chişinău. Discussions will focus on countering foreign information manipulation and interference (FIMI) and strengthening evidence-based policymaking. The meeting will also mark the launch of the Eastern Partnership Academy for Public Administration (EPAPA), aimed at supporting public administration capacity across the Eastern Partnership.

Tuesday 15 September

Turning Inclusion on: Labour Market Integration of Migrants in the Renewable Energy Transition
The European Committee of the Regions will host the final conference of the POWGEN project on the labour market integration of migrants in the renewable energy transition. Bringing together policymakers, practitioners, local and regional authorities and migrants, the event will explore how the green transition can create more inclusive employment opportunities and support migrant participation in the renewable energy sector.

Fostering Youth Volunteering in the EU
The European Committee of the Regions will host an EU Local Dialogue in Galway on youth volunteering and civic engagement. Organised by CoR member Declan McDonnell, the event will explore how volunteering can strengthen youth participation across the EU.

Thursday 17 September

Children of the forest
The European Committee of the Regions will host the opening of the Children of the Forest exhibition in Brussels on 17 September. The exhibition highlights the everyday educational work of forest preschool education developed in Hämeenlinna, Finland, and will remain on display until 15 October.
