Council of Ministers 


Monday 16 January

Transport, Telecommunications and Energy Council
Ministers will be invited to express their opinions on the REPowerEU roadmap, which the Commission made public on 6 May. Ministers are also expected to approve Council conclusions on strengthening the energy union through reinforcing energy security.

Tuesday 17 June

Environment Council
Ministers are expected to reach an agreement on the Council’s position regarding a new regulation that will replace the current directives on end-of-life vehicles (ELV), as well as those on reusability, recyclability, and recoverability. Ministers will also exchange views on the preparations for the 30th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP30). 

Thursday 19 June

Employment, Social Policy, Health and Consumer Affairs Council
The Council will seek to agree its negotiating position on a proposed directive to improve working conditions for trainees and address employment relationships disguised as traineeships. Ministers will also discuss the equal treatment directive, which seeks to prohibit discrimination on the grounds of religion or belief, disability, age or sexual orientation in areas relating to social protection, education and goods and services. Ministers are also expected to approve Council conclusions focusing on the risks and opportunities presented by AI for gender equality.

Friday 20 June

Economic and Financial Affairs Council
The Council will exchange views on the 2025 European Semester Spring package. In the context of efforts to improve competitiveness, the Council will hold a policy debate reflecting on how to lower energy prices in the EU. The Presidency will also present the progress achieved on the Customs Union reform package.

Employment, Social Policy, Health and Consumer Affairs Council
Ministers will discuss the critical medicines act, which aims to improve the availability of critical medicines in the EU and combat shortages of medicines such as antibiotics, insulin, and painkillers. The Council is also expected to approve conclusions on promoting and protecting the mental health of children and adolescents in the digital era.

Sunday 15 June – Tuesday 17 June

Informal meeting of agriculture ministers
The meeting will be combined with an external meeting of the Standing Committee on Agriculture (SCA). The plenary session will be organised in Warsaw. The programme of the event also includes accompanying visits to facilities located in and around Warsaw. Participants will have the opportunity to learn about innovative solutions and modern technologies implemented in rural areas. They will also have the opportunity to meet and talk to Polish farmers and entrepreneurs in the agri-food sector.
