The first 100 days of the new European Commission set the tone for its five-year mandate and demonstrate its commitment to climate action in a changing political landscape. These early decisions shape the future of the European Green Deal (EGD), the EU’s 2030 and 2050 climate targets, and its role in global climate diplomacy.
This event assessed the Commission’s climate actions, examining their alignment with the EU’s objectives and their impact on Member States and the global agenda. The discussions brought together representatives from EU institutions, organised civil society, the private sector and academia, all focused on climate policy and green industrial transformation. Key issues discussed included how to balance ambitious climate policies with EU competitiveness, and the challenges civil society organisations face in policy-making due to disinformation campaigns and funding cuts.
The event was held in the European Parliament, Room SPAAK 5B1 Brussels, Belgium.
