(German, 1943): Political Science Professor at the Free University of Berlin since 1977 and President of the Viadrina European University – Frankfurt (1999-2008). Member of the SPD, she was its candidate for the German Presidential elections twice (2004 and 2009).

The European Movement International employs a professional secretariat that is based in Brussels. The secretariat works on a daily basis to implement the decisions of the Members Council, Federal Assembly and board of the European Movement International, under the direction of the Secretary General.
