The Romanian capital Bucharest was once again the venue of a most interesting ELEC conference that focussed on the Eastern part of the European Union. More than 100 participants attended a conference on the question of how the EU can generate a virtuous circle in the Black Sea Region, more specifically in the case of food and energy security. The high level meeting welcomed keynote speakers such as the European commissioner for climate action and energy, the deputy director general of DG agriculture and rural development, the Romanian prime minister and the governor of the Romanian National Bank.
