The European Movement International was created in 1948, in the aftermath of WWII, to promote European reconciliation, integration, peace, and democracy. In the past 8 decades, we have worked to bring citizens, civil society, and decision-makers together to defend and strengthen these European ideals.
Today, across Europe, peace, democracy and our fundamental rights are being challenged by authoritarian forces. The very idea of European cooperation is being undermined by a resurgence of nationalism and revanchism.

What is the European Movement International?
The European Movement International is the longest running pan-European network of organisations, the only place that brings together civil society, trade union, employers, local governments, the environmental movement, youth organisations, political parties and thousands of activists from across Europe.
