ARLEM-CIVEX Stakeholder Consultation on the Implementation of the Pact for the Mediterranean
The CoR will hold a stakeholder consultation on the implementation of the Pact for the Mediterranean. The meeting, organised in the context of the report on Territorial Perspectives for the Pact, will bring together ARLEM co-rapporteurs, along with the CIVEX Chair. The consultation will gather key stakeholders, including representatives of the European Commission, the Union for the Mediterranean, and local and regional authorities, to discuss the CoR opinion on “The Pact for the Mediterranean: One Sea, One Pact, One Future”.
12th ARLEM Commission Meeting
The 12th ARLEM Commission Meeting, will bring together members from the EU and the Eastern and Southern Mediterranean, alongside high-level speakers. Discussions will focus on the ARLEM annual thematic report on the implementation of the Pact for the Mediterranean. Representatives from EU institutions, the Union for the Mediterranean, municipalities and regional authorities will share experiences and insights on strengthening cooperation across the region.

10th meeting of the OECD Public Communication Network Communicating (for) government delivery: people centred approaches in a complex information environment
The Committee of the Regions will host the 10th meeting of the OECD Public Communication Network, titled “Communicating (for) Government Delivery: People-Centred Approaches in a Complex Information Environment”. The meeting will bring together public communication officials from OECD member and partner countries, alongside experts and non-governmental stakeholders, to exchange experiences on how communication can strengthen policy delivery, improve public governance, and build trust. Discussions will focus on how people-centred communication can help governments engage citizens in an increasingly complex information environment shaped by digital platforms, AI, and evolving media consumption. The event will explore innovative approaches to fostering dialogue, addressing public concerns, and supporting the implementation of reforms.
9th CIVEX commission meeting
In its 9th meeting, the CIVEX Commission will vote on the opinion on the European Democracy Shield and hold exchanges of views on decentralised cooperation, the Pact for the Mediterranean, and counter-terrorism. The agenda also includes discussions on the importance of decentralised cooperation and city diplomacy in fragile settings, as well as the ProtectEU agenda to prevent and counter terrorism. The meeting will bring together CIVEX members to examine key issues related to democracy, security and external relations in the EU.

The European Public Communication Conference 2026, the EU’s largest annual gathering of public communication experts, will take place in Brussels under the theme “Be connectors: creating proximity in a fragmented world”, communicators, policymakers and practitioners. The conference will explore how public communication can help rebuild trust, strengthen dialogue and foster a sense of belonging in an increasingly fragmented information environment. The programme will focus on three key dimensions: connecting people, places and times, with a cross-cutting “digital mirror” exploring the dual role of technology in both connecting and dividing societies.

The European Public Communication Conference 2026, the EU’s largest annual gathering of public communication experts, will take place in Brussels under the theme “Be connectors: creating proximity in a fragmented world”, communicators, policymakers and practitioners. The conference will explore how public communication can help rebuild trust, strengthen dialogue and foster a sense of belonging in an increasingly fragmented information environment. The programme will focus on three key dimensions: connecting people, places and times, with a cross-cutting “digital mirror” exploring the dual role of technology in both connecting and dividing societies.
BorderLabs CE Final event: Towards a Central European Territorial Agenda?
The BorderLabs CE Final Event, titled “Towards a Central European Territorial Agenda?”, will take place in Brussels as a side event of the annual European Cross-Border Platform meeting. Hosted at the European Committee of the Regions, the conference marks the closing of the Interreg Central Europe-supported BorderLabs CE project, led by the Saxon State Ministry for Infrastructure and Regional Development and its partners. The event will provide a platform to discuss the future of territorial integration in Central Europe, featuring keynote interventions, round-table discussions and the launch of a new Charter promoting a shared spatial vision for the region. Participants will explore approaches to cross-border spatial planning, participatory governance and the removal of legal and administrative barriers.
Bringing Cohesion Closer: European Summit of Local Intermediate Authorities
The Committee of the Regions is organising the European Summit of Local Intermediate Authorities, titled “Bringing Cohesion Closer”. The event will bring together European provincial leaders, Members of the European Parliament, and representatives of EU institutions to discuss the future of Cohesion Policy and the next Multiannual Financial Framework. The summit will highlight the strategic role of Local Intermediate Authorities in the design, governance and implementation of EU funding. Discussions will focus on strengthening a place-based approach to Cohesion Policy and ensuring that European investments deliver concrete results across all territories.

The Committee of the Regions is organising the European Cross-Border Platform Annual Meeting 2026. The event will bring together stakeholders from border regions, EU institutions, and cross-border cooperation bodies to discuss recent political developments, practical experiences, and policy solutions for cross-border regions. As part of European Territorial Cooperation, the meeting will address the challenges and opportunities facing border regions, where citizens, businesses and administrations often still encounter obstacles in daily life. Discussions will also highlight new approaches to strengthening cross-border cooperation and the functioning of the single market. The programme will include the annual meeting of the platform’s EGTC working group and the ceremony for the 2026 EGTC award “Building Europe across Borders”, alongside additional side events and exchanges of views among participants.

Regions Connect: Innovation, Sustainability & Global Cooperation
The European Committee of the Regions will host the high-level seminar “Regions Connect: Innovation, Sustainability & Global Cooperation” in Brussels. The event will bring together local and regional authorities, EU policymakers, international experts and industry representatives to discuss regional innovation, territorial cooperation and environmental sustainability in the context of the European Green Deal. Across four thematic sessions, participants will explore key priorities including the green and digital transition of tourism, the reduction of aquatic pollution, the development of circular economy solutions, and the strengthening of global cooperation frameworks. The seminar will highlight practical regional initiatives and policy approaches aimed at supporting sustainable development and fostering international partnerships.
