WEAVE supports migrant women in turning their skills, ideas and talents into opportunities for greater economic independence and social inclusion.
Taking a whole-family and intergenerational approach, WEAVE addresses the diverse needs of migrant women at different stages of life – from young mothers to grandmothers, including women over 50 who are often overlooked by existing support systems.
Working across 11 countries, WEAVE brings together four complementary approaches:
- Understanding needs and opportunities: Through participatory design labs and local navigators, women are actively involved in identifying the challenges they face and shaping solutions that respond to their realities.
- Building skills and confidence: Inclusive entrepreneurship training combines practical business skills with personal empowerment, including storytelling and peer learning.
- Creating spaces for connection: Sisterhood Hubs and Intergenerational Circles provide locally rooted spaces where migrant and local women can connect, exchange knowledge, access mentorship and develop entrepreneurial ideas together.
- Amplifying women’s voices: WEAVE connects local initiatives with EU-level opportunities through digital outreach, participatory events and partnerships, giving migrant women greater visibility and a stronger voice in the communities where they live.
The project also looks beyond its duration. By supporting the development of sustainable Sisterhood Hubs and an Inclusive Entrepreneurship Alliance, WEAVE aims to create models that can be replicated and scaled up, ensuring that its impact continues beyond the project itself.
