Weekly European Agenda 08/09/2025

This week, Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) will gather in Strasbourg for plenary debates and votes on several issues, including the State of the Union speech. On Monday and Tuesday, the Danish Presidency will host the informal meeting of agriculture ministers. On Tuesday, EU Commissioners will gather in Strasbourg to unveil the 2025 Strategic Foresight Report.

European Parliament

On Tuesday, MEPs will have a debate on EU action to ensure security guarantees and just peace for Ukraine. On the same day, they will have a debate on strengthening Moldova’s resilience against Russian hybrid threats and malign interference. On Thursday, MEPs will vote on a resolution on EU action to combat famine in Gaza, the urgent need to release hostages and move towards a two-state solution.  

Council of Ministers

On Monday and Tuesday, the Danish Presidency will host the informal meeting of agriculture ministers. On Thursday and Friday, the Danish Presidency will host the informal meeting of education ministers.  

European Commission and High Representative

On Monday, Commissioner Valdis Dombrovskis will participate in the Recovery and Resilience Dialogue (RRD) under the Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF) Regulation with the European Parliament BUDG and ECON Committees, in Strasbourg. On Wednesday, Commissioner Dubravka Šuica will attends the 10th Anniversary Event of the EU Regional Trust Fund in Response to the Syrian Crisis via video-message. On Thursday, Vice-President Roxana Mînzatu will meet Karin Prien, Federal Minister of Education, Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth of Germany, in Billund.
