Weekly European Agenda 07/04/2026

This week, a number of European Parliament’s committee meetings will take place in Brussels to debate and vote on several issues. On Tuesday, President Ursula von der Leyen will receive the Lower Saxony Land Medal and will deliver a speech in Hannover. No meetings will take place in the Council of the European Union.



European Parliament

On Wednesday, the Committee on Security and Defence (SEDE), together with the Committee on Transport and Tourism (TRAN), will debate a framework of measures to facilitate the movement of military equipment, goods, and personnel across the Union. On Thursday, the Committee on Agriculture and Rural Development (AGRI) will hold a workshop on the Multiannual Financial Framework and the Common Agricultural Policy for the period 2028–2034, followed by an exchange of views with the Commission on the critical situation in the Middle East and its potential implications for the European agricultural sector. 

European Commission and High Representative

On Tuesday, Commissioner Valdis Dombrovskis will meet in Brussels with Davide Galli, President, and Véronique Willems, Secretary General of SMEunited. On Wednesday, Commissioner Jessika Roswall will host a roundtable discussion in Stockholm with government representatives and industry stakeholders on the Water Framework Directive. On Thursday, Commissioner Maria Luís Albuquerque will meet Kristen Michal, Prime Minister of Estoniain Tallinn.
