EU finance ministers are expected to exchange views on the revision of the energy taxation directive. The Council will also aim to reach political agreement on the elimination of the customs duty relief threshold for goods entering the EU.

Friday 14 November

Economic and Financial Affairs Council
The Council will meet to prepare the same day’s meeting of the conciliation committee on the EU budget which will aim to agree on the EU’s annual budget for 2026. The conciliation committee is composed of the representatives of the 27 Member States and 27 members of the European Parliament.

Strengthening cohesion policy in the implementation of National and Regional Partnership Plans involves aligning regional development strategies with the broader goals of the EU’s cohesion policy. This means enhancing coordination between national, regional, local authorities and civil society to ensure effective use of EU funds, reduce regional disparities, and promote balanced economic, social, and territorial development. In this context, the EESC organises a public hearing.
