EU-Armenia Partnership Council
The fifth meeting of the EU-Armenia Partnership Council will take place in Brussels and touch on bilateral relations and political matters. The EU and Armenia will exchange views on the state of implementation of the EU-Armenia Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement and of the EU-Armenia Partnership Priorities, as well as the possibility of moving towards a more ambitious EU-Armenia Partnership Agenda. They will also discuss political dialogue and reform, democracy, rule of law and human rights, economic, trade and sectoral cooperation, as well as migration, mobility and the prospects of launching a visa liberalisation dialogue. Participants will then exchange views on political matters, including regional matters and foreign and security policy.

Plenary session of the Lanzarote Committee
On the occasion of its plenary session, the Lanzarote Committee (the Committee of the Parties to the Council of Europe Convention on the protection of children against sexual exploitation and sexual abuse) will adopt its activity report for the period February 2023-February 2024.The Committee will examine a draft Opinion on statutes of limitations in respect of sexual offences against children, and a draft survey of data collection mechanisms regarding child sexual exploitation and sexual abuse. It will also take decisions on the next steps of its monitoring work concerning protection of children against sexual abuse in the circle of trust and addressing challenges raised by child self-generated sexual images and/or videos.

Ensuring the best interests of the child in civil court proceedings in Slovenia
A conference will be organised in the framework of the EU/CoE joint project “Ensuring the best interests of the child in civil court proceedings in Slovenia”, in which project objectives, main findings of the inception report for the period September 2023-January 2024 and the next steps of its implementation will be presented. An overview of the European context for ensuring the best interests of the child in civil court proceedings and in particular, the ongoing work of the Council of Europe’s Committee of Experts on the Rights and the Best Interests of the Child in Parental Separation and in Care Proceedings (CJ/ENF-ISE) will also be provided. Minister of Justice of Slovenia Dominika Švarc Pipan, Head of the European Commission Representation in Slovenia Jerneja Jug Jerše and Head of Cooperation Projects Unit at the Children’s Rights Division of the Council of Europe Zaruhi Gasparyan are expected to deliver opening remarks. The event that will start at 9.30 am will be open to media.
