Scheduled just one week before millions of Americans cast their votes for the 2024 U.S. presidential election, the panel will dive deep into the shifts and trends in American politics, the economy, societal values, and the future of democracy, all through a transatlantic lens.

External meeting of the European Committee of the Regions Bureau
The 228th meeting of the European Committee of the Regions Bureau will take place in the Balatonfüred Congress Center, in Balatonfüred on 29 October. High-level guest speakers and Bureau members will discuss the future of European Territorial Cooperation and sustainable tourism development in regions with natural heritage.

This one-day conference will gather experts, policymakers and stakeholders to foster collaborative solutions for water sustainability and resilience in the Southern and Eastern Mediterranean region. During the event, participants will discuss main challenges of the water sector industries, such as scarcity, over-exploitation, and climate change impacts. The discussions will also cover the latest regulatory developments, and showcase how the EIB contributes to the sector through its vast experience on project financing, focusing on the nexus between water and climate adaptation.
