About

As digital technologies increasingly shape how Europeans work, learn, communicate and participate in democracy, they also raise fundamental questions about trust, inclusion, fairness and individual rights. From artificial intelligence and digital public services to online platforms and cybersecurity, digitalisation presents both significant opportunities and complex societal challenges.

This interactive workshop will explore how Europe’s digital transformation should be reflected in a new European Social Contract. Following a keynote address by Kai Zenner, Digital Policy Adviser to MEP Axel Voss, participants will discuss how the EU can ensure that digital innovation remains human-centred, strengthens democratic participation, protects fundamental rights, and benefits all citizens.

Through facilitated discussions and collaborative exercises, participants will share their perspectives on the principles, values and policy priorities that should guide Europe’s digital future. The insights collected during the workshop will directly contribute to the development of recommendations for the new European Social Contract within the EXPRESS2 project.
