The panel discussion will delve into ways that the EU and Member States can support women-led innovation, startups, and enterprises.

Environment Council
Following the policy debate held on 18 September and the political guidance set by the European Council on 23 October, EU environment ministers will seek to reach an agreement (‘general approach’) on a proposal to amend the European climate law to establish a binding intermediate climate target for 2040. Ministers will also seek to approve the EU’s post-2030 nationally determined contribution (NDC) to be submitted to the UNFCCC, the UN climate convention.

Workers’ Voice: Understanding the power of AI over decisions: Fostering a better understanding of AI’s implications for employment
Algorithmic management (AM), driven by artificial intelligence and automated decision-making, is transforming the world of work. While promising increased efficiency, these technologies also pose significant challenges, including enhanced surveillance, reduced worker autonomy, and the risk of biased decision-making. For trade unions, regulating AI is a pressing concern due to its rapid evolution and the limited experience as regards its use. To address these issues, the EESC Workers’ Group is organizing a conference jointly with the Foundation for European Progressive Studies (FEPS) to explore the impact of AI on workers’ rights, privacy, and dignity in the workplace.
