Wednesday 10 January

College meeting
EU Commissioners will gather in Brussels where they are expected to discuss the outcomes of the 2022 European Year of Youth, achievements and way forward.

Stakeholders’ consultation for the Opinion on skills and talent mobility
As a part of the drafting process of an opinion on “Skills and Talent Mobility,” the rapporteur of the opinion, François Decoster (FR/Renew Europe) will meet with representatives of organisation and other important stakeholders for a consultation and an exchange of views on the relevant topics of this opinion to gather the different points of views and discuss the main issues.

Belgian Presidency


Tuesday 9 – Wednesday 10 January

High level group on Education & Training
The High Level Group is an informal gathering of senior officials from the Member States and the Commission, which meets to identify, discuss and provide forward-looking guidance to strategic and cross-cutting issues for European cooperation in education and training. The discussions at this meeting will focus on preparing for the future evaluation of the European Education Area and on evidence-informed education policies.

Wednesday 10 – Friday 12 January

Informal meeting of employment and social affairs ministers
Hosted by the Belgian Presidency, the informal Council meeting will bring together the ministers of EU Member States with the relevant European Commissioners, representatives of the European Parliament, ministers from the EFTA Countries , and two candidate countries, and representatives of the social partners and civil society.

Roundtables in the framework of the “Helsinki Dialogue”
The Parliamentary Assembly (PACE) of the Council of Europe, in co-operation with the Parliament of Finland, will organise several roundtables in the framework of the “Helsinki Dialogue”, bringing together Belarusian democratic forces, civil society, and journalists, as well as parliamentarians from Council of Europe member states. The event will look at different ways to support initiatives for a democratic future for Belarus. Discussions will include a focus on the security landscape in the region, the threats to Belarusian independence and national identity, the situation of political prisoners, strategies supporting the Belarusian democratic forces, and electoral matters.
