17th meeting of the EU-Serbia Joint Consultative Committee
The EU-Serbia Joint Consultative Committee (JCC) will hold its 17th meeting on 5 April 2024 at the EESC in Brussels, Belgium. It is a platform established within the institutional framework of the EU‑Serbia Stabilisation and Association Agreement (SAA), enabling representatives of both the EU and the Serbian civil society to monitor the country’s accession negotiations, discuss issues of common interest and point out concerns to be tackled on the Serbian path towards the European Union. Main topics of the 17th meeting of the EU-Serbia JCC will be: Current state of play in EU-Serbia relations and the accession process; Elections in Serbia
Possibilities of the Growth Plan for the Western Balkans in Serbia; Overview of the rule of law situation in Serbia.

2nd General Assembly on Mobility of Apprentices
After the first General Assembly on Mobility of Apprentices in September 2021, held in September 2021, Euro App Mobility is organizing the 2nd edition in Brussels on April 3 and 4, 2024, in presence of Nicolas Schmit, in charge of employment. In light of the draft recommendation “Europe on the move – apprenticeship mobility opportunities for all” published by the European Commission, this event will bring together representatives of the European Commission, the European Parliament, the EU Presidency and member states, the Committee of the Regions and the European Economic and Social Committee, training centers, employers and social partners, as well as apprentices and mobility officers and coordinators from various European countries. The objectives of this event are to: Encourage the adoption of concrete solutions to develop apprentices’ mobility; Highlight the political, economic and social stakes of apprentice mobility.

Young People and Europe – Knock the Vote for European Progress
​​​In view of the upcoming EU elections in 2024, Ms Isilda GOMES (PES/PT) is organising an EU Local Dialogue on youth and elections. This progressive regional and local debate “Young People & Europe: Knock the Vote for European Progress” aims to engage young individuals in discussions about the future of Europe. The participants will explore various themes relevant to European policy areas, including democracy, social justice, environmental sustainability, and economic prosperity. The aim is to empower young voices and encourage their active participation in shaping European policies and decision-making processes at regional and local levels.

Connecting Europe Days
The “Connecting Europe Days” will bring together politicians, financial institutions, industry representatives, transport stakeholders and the European Commission to discuss concrete measures and exchange best practice with a view to creating a fully decarbonised, resilient, seamless and digital transport and mobility network in Europe. It will take stock of the ambitious targets set out in the European Green Deal.

Thursday 4 April – Friday 5 April 

EU-US Trade and Technology Council
As holder of the current presidency of the Council of the European Union, Belgium will host the sixth meeting of the TTC on 4 and 5 April in the university town of Leuven. Preliminary activities and side-meetings are foreseen on 4 April, with the formal conference taking place in the morning of 5 April. The formal meeting is followed by a press conference, concluding the official program of the TTC. A more detailed overview of the program will be released in due course.

Sunday 7 April

Informal meeting of agriculture ministers
The European Ministers for Agriculture and the European Commission will meet between 7 and 9 April in Limburg, where they will not only be introduced to Belgian innovations and specialities, but will also delve deeper into i.a. strategic autonomy in proteins.

Secretary General Marija Pejčinović Burić will open the 4th meeting of the Conference of Participants of the Register of Damage for Ukraine, held as part of Ministerial Conference “Restoring Justice for Ukraine” co-hosted by the Governments of the Netherlands, Ukraine and the European Commission. On that date, she will mark the Register’s opening for submission of claims.

European Innovation Days in History Education
A conference “The European Innovation Days in History Education” will be organised within the framework of HISTOLAB, a joint project of the European Union and the Council of Europe. It will gather over 150 practitioners to present game changing approaches and projects in this field of education. Historians, students, and experts will explore new ideas to reinvigorate the field of history education. Participants will showcase: new ways to teach the underrepresented and marginalised histories, new teaching methods that incorporate museums and places of remembrance, as well as new means to better use local history for schoolwork.
