Tuesday 25 July 

Agriculture and Fisheries Council
The ministers will discuss the study complementing the impact assessment of the proposal for a regulation on the sustainable use of pesticides. Ministers will also exchange views on the recent proposal on new genomic techniques and discuss the market situation in light of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. The Spanish presidency will also present its priorities and work programme for agriculture and fisheries.

Friday 28 July 

Building public trust in the use of drones
This event, hosted by Mr Wladyslaw Ortyl aims at building public trust in the use of drones at the regional and local level through their use by emergency services. The goal is to provide additional input to the draft opinion of the Committee of the Regions on the Drone Strategy 2.0.

Monday 24 – Tuesday 25 July 

Informal ministerial meeting on consumer affairs and industry and internal market
On July 24, there will be two working sessions, one titled “New Consumer Agenda 2020-2025: Current situation and future prospects”, and the other titled “Next steps in sustainable consumption”. The day will end with a press conference. On the 25th, the first working session is called “Open Strategic Autonomy as a cornerstone of the EU: an opportunity for industrial development and a new boost to the internal market”, the second will be: Clusters: 1-“Short-term responses: flexibility of state aid” 2- “Long-term competitiveness. Completing the single market as a response to external challenges” 3- “Policy measures to support our economy. Financial backing”.

Tuesday 25 – Wednesday 26 July 

Meeting of Heads of Development Agencies and Humanitarian Agencies
The need to devote resources to urgent matter has been highlighted by the various current crises, and a strategic commitment to building a soild foundation for sustainable development is needed. The agenda includes: A conference on “EU international development cooperation in the context of the current crisis”, which will analyse the role of European bilateral agencies in the context of the current international crises (Ukraine and its impact on global food security and the climate crisis), another conference, in parallel to the previous one, “The challenges of humanitarian action in the face of current crises and resource scarcity”, and finally a joint session of participants (development + humanitarian) in which bilateral agencies, development banks and heads of Humanitarian Action and DG ECHO reflect on the triple humanitarian-peace-development nexus).

Thursday 27 – Friday 28 July 

Informal ministerial meeting on competitiveness (Research)
The second day will include two working sessions on “The role of scientific diplomacy” and “Second Strategic Plan for Horizon Europe (2025-27), with a working lunch with a “Presentation of the IFMIF DONES project”.

Informal ministerial meeting EPSCO (Health)
The meeting will have two working sessions with the titles: “Digital Health: Paving the Path to the European Health Union” and “Improving mental health in the EU”. A working lunch will also be held on the topic: “Actions to build up EU open strategic autonomy in the area of medicines and medical devices”.
